Welcome to Fey and Bard, home of the World of Illithiust, the Stories of Keto the Bard, and the Legend of Quartes.  Here I hope to share with you my continual process of developing my fantasy world of Illithiust and inspirational and terrifying cast of characters and creatures.  If you’re looking for a place to read deep character driven stories, stories with characters looking to understand and better their world, than I think you have found the right spot.

There’s power in stories.

A story can inspire and change the world, and in Illithiust that is the truth.  Illlithiust is a world powered by the very belief of its residents, a world  subject to change to match its people’s superstitions, their fears, and their hopes.  It’s a world that can be a dark place, plagued by little understood monsters and warped by the fear that far too often controls us.  Yet within Illithiust, and within the pages of this site, you will find characters striving to make Illithiust a better place, aspiring to craft the stories that willto make a better world.  Key amongst these characters are the Fey and Bard themselves.  

The Fey: Quartes

Weary survivor of the cyclic tales of Draconic destruction that plague Illithiust.  Last of the Fey Landians, first inhabitants of Illithiust, and the inheritor of the title of Heir of Lehn, the story that inspires hope in all those who fear they won’t see a tomorrow.

The Bard: Keto

Aspiring minstrel and harpist.  Born into a world struggling to survive in Draconic times, and determined to see Illithiust achieve a better era. If Quartes is the blade striving to save Illithiust, Keto is the heart that wields it.

As for the one writing this.  I’m Sean, someone who built a world for his friends to play Dungeon & Dragons in and in doing found he enjoyed the world and character building as much as the dice rolling.  Writing has been my escape from the difficulties of my own life that I face and my continued inspiration to try and make the world a better place.  I am excited to have finally built a home from which to share my stories and my thoughts on storytelling.  I hope here you find entertainment and inspiration.  With its flexibility due to the power of its stories, Illithiust is a host to infinite number of tales and I hope to not just build a place to share mine but a place where you can start you own.
