There's Power in Stories

Check-In – Sinus Headaches

So, just wanted to put a short post out there to cover on what happened this past weekend.

To start though, the post for Part 7 has been updated (and correctly numbered) to include the entire part, bringing that entry to a little over 1,000 words. I hope you’ll all go and enjoy that as seeing Brokel and Keto have their first interaction was quiet fun to write (with more to come in Part 8).

As the truncated entry in “Against the Riders” had previously noted, I hadn’t felt well much of last week, and last weekend in particular.  As someone with seasonal allergies, and who moves every handful of years, the first year in a new location is always a bit interesting as I see how I will handle the changing of the seasons.  Alaska was really good to me on this front, with the seasons not really bringing any allergic/sinus effects (this despite the spruce trees sending up literally billowing clouds of pollen that coated everything in yellow).  Hawaii appears to be different and I think last week, along with some stress and sleep issues, was a bit much.  I had a sinus headache on Friday and it grew into a migraine over Saturday and largely stayed there for most of Sunday.

When I finally did manage to get the headache to go away, I was left too drained to do much of anything.  Which left me deciding to post what I had of the next part of Against the Riders.  I’m feeling better now, though I’ve had a sinus headache return a few times since.  Probably more importantly, I’ve got some medication that seems to combat it.

My apologies again for the delay, in hindsight I do have a few stories in reserve and I probably should’ve posted one of them.  That said, days of headaches and poor sleep does not make for the best decision making.  The good new is that all of Part 7 is now posted and I’m working on Part 8 for later this weekend (though if I’m honest I may post a filler story instead, it’ll depend on how some writing I’m about do goes).

Go forth and do good things,

Sean
